I am not a writer. I am a woman with a challenging 9-5 job who needs a creative outlet and writing is what I do to to recompose. I write about things that move me in one way or another. I write to reflect on the world around me. I write on a whim, putting down whatever comes to my mind. I should mention that the banner image on top of this blog is part of a surrealist photo by Anja Stiegler (see post of April 2, 2012). It depicts a girl sitting on a swing that is attached to a cloud. I like it because to me it expresses a kind of dreaminess, a childlike freedom, a sense of being suspended in a moment. And perhaps that is part of what this blog is about; fantasy and reverie. But the blog is also about life in a more concrete way. I like to vent. So there we have it! The blog is a reflection of who I am.

Addendum, May 30, 2012: I simply have to add this paper-cut version of my avatar (and of Anja Stiegler’s picture). This was created by  Nicole Belanger Smeltzer, the incredibly talented and innovative creator of the blog The Middlest Sister. She posted 50 paper-cut interpretations of avatars in celebration of having reached 5000 subscribers. See my re-blog of her post dated May 29, 2012.

  1. Paige,
Hi I’m Becky and I noticed you liked one of my posts so I clicked and came over to your blog. We seem to have very different blogging styles, but I was so surprised and honored that you have my blog in your blogroll. At first I thought maybe it was a joke. Maybe you were thinking that farm blogs are funny in a these-people-are-crazy sort of way. Then I thought maybe she really likes my blog. Anyways, I really like your blog after I went through it a bit. I am no art expert, but it’s neat and I’m glad I found it.
I nominated you for the versatile blogger award. If you choose to accept there are rules and hoops you have to jump through, but it’s sort of fun. Thanks again for the blogroll.

  2. Hi Becky, thanks for visiting my blog and thanks for your comment. I love your blog; reading it reminds me of when I was a child, growing up in the forest, close to large farms. My family also had sheep and other animals. I am so honored to be nominated for the versatile blogger award, stunned really! Thank you very much.

  3. This blog is amazing, so much like me! Can I dare to ask you which profession you have got as you are not a writer? There is so much creativity coming up everyday. Lisa
