A while ago I purchased a book called Scandinavian Design, by Charlotte and Peter Fiell, published by Taschen in 2002. I think I accidentally stumbled upon it in an Anthropologie store (surprisingly, they sometimes have excellent books) in New York City. This is a wonderful work for those of you wanting a thorough overview of Scandinavian design; it highlights with 179 illustrations Scandinavian furniture, glass, ceramics, textiles, jewelry, metalware and industrial design from 1900 to the present. Now and then I take this very heavy book down from my book shelf and look through it. I am not a designer, but I am addicted to beautiful things and this work usually has me captivated for long periods of time. If you are into this kind of thing, get if for yourself and take a look.
